William Allen (known as Allan) Jones Graham was born in Toronto, Ontario on June 15th, either in 1922 or 1924. According to his son, Allan joined the RCAF on October 9th, 1941 and served in RAF 181 Squadron, flying Typhoons from June 2nd, 1944 until he was shot down and captured in Germany on February 13th, 1945.

From the book, Typhoon and Tempest by Hugh Halliday: "No. 181...had further successes on December 29th, 1944. At 1255 hours eight aircraft, including two piloted by F/O Ken Hanna and WO2 W.A.J. Graham (RCAF R136023) took off for an armed reconnaissance between Munster and Bersteinfurt. They attacked 70 stationary vehicles with RP and cannon, claiming 15 destroyed and 19 damaged while small-calibre ack-ack blazed away. The Typhoons landed at 1410 hours, having spent a productive 75 minutes in the air. Hanna and Graham were out again on December 31. No. 181 flew two missions that day.
